SWOT Analysis for Practice Enrichment Module

Strengths

Able to use Photoshop for image manipulations.
Able to use Illustrator.
Able to set things up in inDesign.
Good at drawing by hand.
Can use a selection of mixed media to create work/ final piece.

Weaknesses

Not very good at creating characters without something to look at.
Not very good a colouring neatly with hands.

Opportunities

To learn to draw from my head.
Learn new illustrative styles.
Learn how to use mixed media in different ways.

Threats

Not being able to draw without reference could restrict my initial ideas.

Smart Targets

These are all targets which have been set throughout the year. I was a little behind at the beginning since I joined the course a month after it started, but it didn't take me long too catch up. I am working towards my last 2 targets at the minute.

Final Work Based Learning Outcome

So this is my final piece for this module. This module was something I've never really done before. It was focused more on the final piece and how we collaborated and worked with the different parties, eg the photographer and tyneside cinema and not on our portfolio that goes with the final piece. I still made an effort on the portfolio though. It taught me about negotiation and how everything has to be followed for every last detail. I like my poster outcome, although in future I think I need too try different media, or a texture in the background, as it's quite hard to tell that I used a slight gradient.

Illustrative Inspiration

I've been researching illustration, for part of my new project. I came across these, and I absolutely love the Disney characters. All credit for them goes too Jirka Vaatainen. I like how realistic they look, eventhough they're graphic illustrations. As for the other two images, I love the colours and the flow of the artwork.
